Jellyfin Setup

Before you begin

You need a working Jellyfin server and a Jellyfin user account. Confirm that Jellyfin works from another device before troubleshooting MediaHarbour.

Local network discovery

MediaHarbour can look for Jellyfin servers on the local network. If a server is found, select it and continue to sign-in.

Manual server address

If discovery does not find your server, enter its address. For example:

http://192.168.0.22:8096

Replace that example with your server’s actual address. If you use a reverse proxy or HTTPS hostname, enter the full URL you normally use to access Jellyfin.

Remote access

Remote Jellyfin access is controlled by your server/network configuration. Prefer HTTPS for access over the internet. Do not expose services to the internet unless you understand the security implications. MediaHarbour does not configure your firewall, DNS, VPN, TLS certificate, or reverse proxy.

Supported server environments

Jellyfin itself can be hosted on many systems, including Linux, Windows, macOS, Docker and NAS platforms. MediaHarbour does not require a particular NAS brand.
